The Richness of Dogs

For the last few years my husband has given me a calendar adorned with pictures of Golden Retrievers for Christmas. We own a dear 11 year old male Golden named Seamus.  He is the first and only dog I've ever owned and I don't know how I survived without him.  My calendar this year has a quote about dogs on each month.  I flipped over to February today to read:

"No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich."  Louis Sabin, author.

How true.

I'm linking up today with the Small Blog Meet at Lily's Quilts.

  1. Seams looks like a real water dog. Ruby's no too keen on water. Like you, she is our first ever dog and we're so glad we took the plunge.

  2. We have a black lab who's just the sweetest dog ever and loves the water too--any puddle will do for a quick dip!

  3. I love my dog so I totally agree.

  4. they certainly put character into your life, don't they? We lost rusty last spring after 14 years. I could never understand how he could just walk across a quilting project I had laying on the floor . . . silly dog.

  5. I completely agree :o) We had 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and when we lost them, quite close together, we didn't think we could get another dog but a year later we rescued a lurcher cross weimeraner called Buster, he's nuts, just like us and we wouldn't be without him now, he walks all over my quilts, tries to lay on my feet and my sewing machine pedal! and rests his head on my laptop when i'm typing - so helpful!
